August's Glow Gamechanger: Blithe Splash Masks

Everyone loves a good mask. I know I do–especially when you find one that makes your skin feel baby-soft. On those days when you really just want to treat yourself, a mask is always a great way to do so. But with life being life, it can be hard to find time to give yourself a little TLC. Mornings are always rushed because I never get up when I need to, and when I get home after a long day at work I just want to climb in bed and watch some K-dramas to ogle at Nam Joohyuk. So yeah, masks are great, but I don’t use one as often as I probably should.

When I found out about the Blithe Splash Masks, I was immediately intrigued and attracted to how simple it sounded. The Splash Mask is a total game-changer, especially for people like me who really just can’t find the time to be waiting around for a thick mask to set and dry. I wear glasses and am nearsighted–meaning wash-off masks can be extra inconvenient since I can’t put on my glasses to watch my dramas! (Not okay). This versatile treatment, which contains a blend of concentrated lactic acid and botanical extracts, is so easy and quick to use that you can use it pretty much whenever you want, which in my book is a win-win.

Unlike traditional thick wash-off masks that can get goopy and messy, the Splash Mask feels basically like water with a hint of something extra– and extra is always better, right? Because it has such a thin, liquid texture, it works quickly over the surface of your skin for an instant glow–just splash it on in the shower or at your sink! Pour a capful into your hands, dilute with a little water, then splash and pat on your skin for 15 seconds. Continue patting with more water as you rinse to promote absorption into the skin. You can even soak a cotton pad into a 1:1 ratio mix of the Splash Mask and water, swiping it across your face as a gentle toner or leave the cotton pads on as a quick 5-minute mask. It’s legit that simple. I personally like to use it in the morning right before my skincare routine. I normally just rinse with water, since I find cleansing in the AM to be too stripping for my skin, but the Splash Mask is perfect for perking up my skin and getting that extra radiance boost.

The key to the Splash Mask being real effective, real quick is its unique formula of highly concentrated lactic acid and botanical extracts. Lactic acid is a gentle Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA) that works to lift dead skin cells off the surface of your skin without irritation. Chemical exfoliants like AHA are less abrasive than physical exfoliants, but their gentle nature makes them more effective long-term, as they treat your skin on a molecular level to keep it clean and clear of debris. Science!
PSA: Always be sure to wear sunscreen, especially when using chemical exfoliants! AHAs are less physically abrasive but they can make skin more sensitive to the sun.

The botanical extracts in each of the three Splash Mask flavors work to hydrate and treat specific skin concerns, so there’s a little something for everyone. The Yellow Citrus & Honey works to diminish dark spots, uneven skin tone, and texture issues with brightening citrus and soothing honey. The Green Tea combats blemishes, clogged pores, excess sebum, and blackheads with antioxidant-rich green tea and antibacterial tea tree oil. The Purple Berry flavor is formulated with antioxidant-rich berries and brightening citrus fruit extracts for those wanting an anti-aging boost to plump fine lines and improve dullness.

For all of us who want to mask more often without the fuss, Splash Mask is simple yet effective solution. Its ability to deliver bright, soft skin in almost no time at all makes it a great timesaver while adding that extra oomph to our skincare routines.
