Recipe for Winter Skincare: Treating Blemishes with Tea Tree

Does Tea Tree really Treat Acne & Troubled Skin?

Since I was a teenager going through the all-too-common phase of angsty teenage blemishes, I’ve commonly heard that Tea Tree extract was the solution. So I’ve just assumed – like many of you, I’m sure – that tea tree was for treating breakouts and never questioned its actual benefit.

Luckily for me, I stopped breaking out after my teen years except for the occasional pimple here and there. But last week, I suddenly got insane, angry red breakouts around my chin.

I was going to a big event in less than a week and I was devastated. When I complained about my current situation to my team, they highly recommend that I use LJH Tea Tree 90 Essence to soothe the breakout. At first I thought, yeah yeah, another Tea Tree anti-acne product. Because I remember that they didn’t do much for my skin troubles during those teen years. Ultimately, only time seemed to help.

But I was really stunned over by the dramatic effect this one bottle worked on my troubled face.

Tea Tree acquires its popular association with treating acne for its natural antibacterial and antimicrobial qualities. Since a common cause of acne is bacteria, it makes perfect sense that Tea Tree is the nature’s antidote for acne. So the actual benefit of Tea Tree was solid, but the difference seemed to lie in the preserved potency and portion used in skincare products. LJH’s Tea Tree 90 Essence is a water-free formula made of 90% of Tea Tree extract, which probably explains the effective improvement on your skin. Another interesting part was using a serum with Tea Tree extract, which was a first for me. Using this product (which was wonderfully hydrating even though it was lightweight) all over the face on an on-going basis was a different way to approach skin troubles vs. using a spot treatment after the fact.

Instead of going on about this any further, without further ado – a photo journey (complete w/ time stamps) of my skin for 5 days with the LJH Tea Tree 90 Essence added to my routine.
