Niacinamide

Niacinamide (also known as Vitamin B3) brightens skin and helps combat existing sun spots and hyperpigmentation. It also works to brighten dull skin & minimize the appearance of pores. Boosts skin hydration and supports the skin barrier.

Rice Extract Blend

Watermelon seed oil is rich in antioxidants that help hydrate and soothe the skin. The oil is packed full of vitamins, such as A, E, and B, that work together to prevent oxidative stress.

Glycerin + Hydration Boosting Blend

Glycerin is known as an NMF - natural moisturizing factor, meaning it is naturally found in skin. Glycerin helps to boost + maintain skins moisture levels. Combination of 3 chemical (aka organic) UV filters to provide broad spectrum UVA + UVB protection. The chemical filters are what allow Watermelon Glow Dew Shield to stay crystal clear + undetectable while working within the formula to provide SPF 30 and PA+++ sun protection! Avobenzone (AKA Butyl Methoxydibenzoylmethane) is widely accepted to be one of the best, traditional UV Filters to shield against / provide protection against UVA rays. Octisalate (AKA Ethylhexyl Salicylate or Octyl Salicylate) helps to provide protection against UVB rays. Also helps to stabilize other UV filters in the formula! Formulated WITHOUT UV filters such as octinoxate, octocrylene, or oxybenzone – Sephora Planet Aware qualifies these specific filters (+ other filters that are not as commonly used) as a concern for suspected coral toxicity / coral bleaching. Dew Shield does NOT contain these UV filters, and is Planet Aware certified.

Watermelon Glow Dew Shield is formulated to be ultra-nourishing with a burst of hydration, so it can also work as your morning moisturizer if desired. Be sure to reapply every 2 hours!

What is optimal storage for my SPF?

We recommend storing Watermelon Glow Dew Shield in a dry place, and away from prolonged direct sunlight!

Yes! Watermelon Glow Dew Shield has been tested to provide broad spectrum UVA and UVB protection.

The UV filters used are in alignment with Clean at Sephora and Sephora Planet Aware, formulated without UV filters such as octinoxate, octocrylene, or oxybenzone.

What is the PPD value/PA rating of this formula?

Watermelon Glow Dew Shield is SPF 30, rated PA+++ and offers broad-spectrum UVA and UVB protection! SPF ratings represent the level of UVB protection in a formula, whereas a PA rating represents the level of UVA protection. While all sunscreens sold in the US must undergo SPF and critical wavelength testing, it is not required to test for UVA protection (ISO 24442). This is why you don’t always see PA ratings on every SPF product! Opting to use a product with a PA rating (like Dew Shield!) allows you to feel confident your sunscreen is providing UVA protection at the PA level mentioned!

Is this SPF formula reef-safe?

While there is no one, shared definition of reef-safe domestically or globally, we have chosen to formulate without Octinoxate, Octocrylene and Oxybenzone sunscreen actives due to their environmental impact in accordance with Sephora Planet Aware.

FINALLY
Finally I have found a facial sunscreen that doesn’t SMELL like sunscreen. I’m sensitive to smells, and hate that every single sunscreen for your face smells like just that, this one smells like watermelon- it’s hydrating, feels light and smells wonderful. Plus playing mermaids in the water for 3+ hours in 10 UV, my face isn’t crispy ( it’s a little pink) , and feels hydrated still. This coming from a red head with fair skin, all of these are an absolute win

It’s amazing,
I recently got sunburnt at a beach in Puerto Rico. I had never been sun burnt this way before and it was all due to a pharmacy brand spf I used on my face prior to the beach. I was never an spf girlie but this spf is so smooth and hydrating. Definitely recommend!

I need a jumbo size of this SPF ASAP
I am already on my 2nd bottle of this Glow Recipe watermelon Glow Dew Shield. Absolutely the best sunscreen I have found. No white cast, hydrates, glides on, AND THE SMELL is intoxicatingly delicious.

Good Smell, Burning Sensation-
While I love the smell of this product, unfortunately it burns my skin… I did see another review where someone had a skin condition and it also agitated their skin??
I have Sebopsoriasis so maybe that is the issue here- not sure what ingredients set it off honestly.
At least it smells lovely though!
